Tooney’s Last Resort

Tooney’s Last Resort is an animal sanctuary located on the premises of Beach Animal Hospital. It has been providing food, shelter and medical care to dogs and cats since 1995. Since its inception, Tooney’s Last Resort (originally called “The Last Resort”) has taken in over a hundred animals, mainly cats. Many of these have found permanent, loving homes while some have remained long term residents of the shelter. Our goal is to provide a safe haven for as little or as long as necessary to the animals that enter into our care. In 2003, Beach Animal Hospital took in 30 cats from a woman who was being evicted from her home in the Bronx. All of these cats required some sort of medical or surgical care. Many of these cats found loving homes.. Through the years as we have taken in other cats, sometimes when their owner died or could not otherwise take care of them, so we established The Last Resort. We care for these cats and adopt out those that can be adopted. We are able to do this, to a great degree, through the generosity of many of our clients. In spring of 2009 we obtained 501 c-3 status for Tooney’s Last Resort so that all contributions made towards maintaining the health of these cats is tax deductible.

Beach Animal Hospital is proud to support Point Pleasant Beach Police dogs.
